Porsche vehicles were designed for all-weather use and can handle any road condition with confidence. You know this already, but as fall rolls in and leaves start to fall, we thought we would go over a few tips to get the most out of your vehicle in the coming months and avoid some of the things that only happen in the fall and that impede your driving experience.
Beware of Cold Tires
Cold tires can be a problem on a high-performance car. Cold tires have less grip and tend to hobble on the road which can lead to unexpected losses of traction. This is especially true if the road is wet or there are leaves on the ground. Fall mornings are a lot colder than what we all enjoyed this summer. When leaving in the morning, especially if the outside temperature is below 10 degrees, remember to drive cautiously because your performance tires will have quite a bit less grip. Even when it warms up, you want to be careful with leaves on the road as these tend to be wet and slippery, even if the sun is out.
Visibility Can Be a Problem
The sun is lower in fall and can quickly blind you if you’re not prepared. Always have a pair of sunglasses in the car and make sure you have sufficient window washing fluid as well. Making sure your windshield wipers are in good condition is very important as well.
Start Thinking of Winter
Fall will quickly give way to winter. It’s a good time to plan your winter maintenance package right away and book your appointment to get your winter tires put on. You won’t have to worry about the crowds and getting a late appointment if you book right away.
Prepare to Store Your Porsche
If you are planning to store your Porsche for winter, remember to book an appointment with our service department before putting your Porsche away. We will make sure it is in great condition and is protected until the wrap comes off next spring. Also remember to over-inflate your tires by 15 % and fill the gas tank. We can help you make sure your Porsche is well lubricated as well.
