2017 Porsche Cayenne: there is a lot to love

When Porsche first floated the idea around of building a sport utility vehicle more than 15 years ago, the brand’s core customers were upset to say the least. After-all, Porsche vehicles were known for their rear-engine rear-wheel drive performance, and that was just something that was impossible to duplicate in a sport utility vehicle.

The new Porsche Cayenne was therefore going to be nothing like what a Porsche vehicle should feel like. Well, it’s true that the Cayenne introduced back in 2003 was unlike any other Porsche model, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t have Porsche’s DNA floating through its mechanical components. Even buyers who wanted nothing to do with Porsche’s SUV had to admit that this was more of a sports car with plenty of interior space as opposed to an SUV with a sports car logo.

The 2017 Porsche Cayenne is all Porsche

The 2017 Porsche Cayenne benefits from a wide range of improvements made to the midsize luxury SUV a few years back. Despite not being completely redesigned this year, it is still as modern and advanced as its main competition. On the other hand, it also offers something many competitors cannot; a dynamic drive.

If you have never driven a Porsche Cayenne, you will surely be surprised. Especially if you are skeptical of how well an SUV can handle and perform.

Ultimately, the 2017 Porsche Cayenne features what many experts believe to be a perfect blend of performance and refinement. There are also plenty of engines to choose from including a normally-aspirated V6 entry-level powertrain which delivers 300 horsepower, or a twin-turbo V6 that delivers 420 horsepower in the Porsche Cayenne S. For even more power, there is the Porsche Cayenne GTS that bumps power up to 440 horsepower, and then you have the Turbo and Turbo S models that deliver 520 and 570 horsepower respectively from a 4.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.

The same Porsche DNA and personality in every 2017 Porsche Cayenne

No doubt about it, there is a 2017 Porsche Cayenne for everyone. Now granted we are nearing the end of the year, so some trims and engines may not be available, but that doesn’t really matter when it comes to how the 2017 Cayenne behaves on the road.

At the end of the day, this is a very capable sport utility vehicle. It can even hold its own on a track. Porsche engineers have done a terrific job in ensuring that this SUV can proudly represent the Porsche brand while offering its clients a more versatile and comfortable ride during their daily commute.

In other words, the 2017 Porsche Cayenne may just be the best of both worlds from Porsche. Come and check out our remaining 2017 Porsche Cayenne vehicles today at Porsche Center Calgary!
